(Reuters) – A man died after being struck by a running plane engine at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, Dutch airline KLM said on Wednesday.
Dutch media reported the incident earlier on Wednesday, and Dutch military police Marechaussee said on Twitter they were investigating.
The investigation has not yet established who the man was, a Marchaussee spokesman told Reuters.
The spokesman added that it was too early to say whether this was an “incident” or a form of suicide. He added that all passengers and crew members who will become important witnesses in the investigation left the plane safely.
KLM, which is part of France-KLM, also said in a statement that it was investigating the event.
