Caroline Sutter and Urs Berger are leaving the board of directors of Basler Kantonalbank after ten years in office.
Two new vacancies will be announced in the coming days ahead of re-election to another four-year term on April 1 at the annual general meeting – just a day after the couple’s resignations take effect.
The new members will be elected by the government of the canton of Basel.
Sutter has chaired the board’s audit committee and Berger has chaired the compensation and nominating committee since 2017.
The former is currently a freelance business consultant with her firm Karoline Sutter Beratung, and previously worked for 10 years at BDO as a business consultant and auditor.
From 2003 to 2009 she was a municipal councilor for the municipality of Reigoldswil.
Berger currently sits on the board of directors of several companies, including Gothaer Versicherungsbank. From 2003 to 2011 he was CEO of the Mobiliar Group in Bern.
Previously, he was Vice President of the Board of Directors of Bâloise Bank SoBa in Basel.
He was also a member of the executive committee of the Baloise Group corporation in Basel and a member of the executive board of the Swiss company Basler Versicherungen.
