(Reuters) – Tesla said on Friday it will raise prices on all Model Y vehicles in the U.S. by $1,000 starting April 1, the automaker said on its website.
“Starting April 1, prices for all Model Y trim levels will increase by $1,000,” Tesla (NASDAQ:) announced on its website.
On March 1, the company also raised the prices of its rear-wheel drive and long-range Model Y vehicles by $1,000 to $43,990 and $48,990, respectively.
Tesla did not specify whether the April increase would be in addition to the March increase for rear-wheel drive and long-range models.
Tesla temporarily cut prices on some of its Model Y vehicles in the U.S. in February, nearly a month after cutting prices in Europe and China.
“This is a fundamental manufacturing problem: factories need continuous production to be efficient, but consumer demand is seasonal,” CEO Elon Musk said in February, responding to Tesla’s announcement that prices would rise in March.
