The move, announced in a post on social media platform X, follows the automaker’s announcement Friday that it would increase prices on all Model Y vehicles in the U.S. by $1,000 starting April 1.
On March 1, Tesla (NASDAQ:) raised the prices of its rear-wheel drive and long-range Model Y vehicles by $1,000 to $43,990 and $48,990, respectively.
“This is a fundamental manufacturing problem: factories need continuous production to be efficient, but consumer demand is seasonal,” Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in February, responding to a post on X from his company that announced prices would rise next year. month.
Tesla’s profits have been hit by a price war with rivals that began more than a year ago.
