Investing.com – Japan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday as sector and sector losses dragged shares lower.
At the end of trading in Tokyo, the price fell by 0.10%.
The best performers of the session were Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. (TYO:) rose 9.08% or 363.00 points to trade at 4360.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Sumitomo Electric Industries Co.,Ltd. Kansai Electric Power Co Inc (TYO:) rose 5.89%, or 145.50 points, to finish at 2,615.00, while Kansai Electric Power Co Inc (TYO:) rose 5.50%. or 150.00 points, to 2,877.50 at the end of trading.
The worst performance of the session was Lasertech Corp. (TYO:), which fell 3.19% or 1,390.00 points to trade at 42,220.00 at the close. Sharp Corp (TYO:) shares fell 2.86%, or 27.20 points, to finish at 924.70. Bandai Namco Holdings Inc. (TYO:) fell 2.82%, or 84.50 points, to 2,915.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered rising stocks on the Tokyo Stock Exchange from 1917 to 1656, with 296 stocks ending unchanged.

The index, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, fell 1.06% to 16.78.
Oil for July delivery rose 0.28%, or 0.22, to $78.77 a barrel. In commodities trading, Brent crude for August delivery rose 0.05%, or 0.04, to $82.92 a barrel, while June gold futures fell 0.37%, or 8.65, and traded at $2,343.85 per troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.00% at 156.85 and EUR/JPY was up 0.13% at 170.62.
US Dollar Index futures fell 0.14% to 104.38.
