Vanguard named a former BlackRock ETF executive as its new CEO, replacing outgoing CEO Tim Buckley, who announced plans to step down in February.
Salim Ramji, who left his post as BlackRock’s head of iShares and index investing in January, will take over as CEO on July 8, the firm announced Tuesday.
“The Board of Directors welcomes Salim to the leadership team and looks forward to working closely with him as we strengthen and expand our mission and purpose with the best interests of individual investors at our core,” said Mark Loughridge, Vanguard’s lead independent director, in a statement. .
